Cyma G18c not shooting

So a long time ago a friend of mine broke the mag catch on my Cyma 18c and I just now became bored enough to take the whole gun apart, take the mag catch out, melt the two broken pieces back together, and put it all back together.

Just one problem, the gun shot before, but didn't hold mags. Now when I pull the trigger nothing happens, holds the magazine just fine though...

I made sure to put it all back together exactly as I took it apart, all the wiring is connected, the trigger seems to be pushing the little black bit forward as it did before, everything connects and I have no idea whats wrong. The battery worked before hand so its not that. I just have no idea what it could be. Has anyone else had this problem too? or does anyone have a solution?

Make sure you didnt switch the connectors on the battery. Me and my dad were rewiring his gun to better accomodate a crane stock batt. and well, we were being stupid and forgot that.

Yeah, might pull out the motor and connect it to the battery to see if it spins and if so, which way!

I can try that but it's quite the hassle, Chinese manufacturers i guess have decided that its easier to sauder the wires to the motor. And its one of those little 7.2v batteries, so I have no idea how you got a crane stock battery to work O.O'

Anyways, I'm too tired today to try anything tonight so I'll take it apart again tomorrow to see if I missed anything, good new is the mag catch is holding up even though I had to melt it back together several times due to the spring that pushes the button back, breaking it over and over again.

I give up, I've tried all of that and then some, it now turns like a millimeter and then stops and doesn't move again. So I'm just going to say its not worth my time.

Sounds like it's locking up, ie a mechanical problem not an electrical one. There a way to adjust motor height? Can you turn the gears with your fingers when the motor's not attached?

Do you have the motor separated from the gun or is it still inside and connected to the gearbox? Like Fracsid said, it may be too tight up against the gears, so it could either not move at all or move very slowly. If you have the motor separated and it's still not turning then something could have damaged the motor while the gun was opened up.

dude just stop messing around with it, keep it as a parts gun and order another. Thats whats so great about the cyma is it like 40 bucks, and then youll also have another mag.

Not sure how much exp. you have at tearing them down, but I've taken mine down completely and put back together a couple of times now. I could take a look at it. Unfortunately I don't have any extra mag catches, but I've got almost an entire gearbox-worth of parts here. I'm in Loveland if that makes a difference.

....or you could sell it to me if you don't wanna bother with it...

Ok, I'm sorry it took so long but I had to work up the nerve to actually dig into such a cluster frak of a little gearbox. It's nothing like my thompson's lol.

Anyways I took it all the way down and looked at every part individually. After doing this I found conclusively what the problem is. It's not mechanical, it's not electrical, there's nothing wrong with the spring, piston or compression etc. etc.

The motor is fried, it turns when I take it out and run the battery strait to it, but I can stop it by just pushing lightly on the gear of the motor with my finger.

Anyone know where I can find a better motor or at the very least a replacement for fairly cheap, I can't seem to find any new ones in stores in stock.

Also, if I do get a new motor I can't get the crappy old one from the gearbox shell, it's wedged in there and held in the bottom of the motor by something, anyone who has taken one apart this far hopefully knows what I'm talking about.

*edit: Would it happen to be the EG560 motor? the same one that is in the marui famas? If it is that would be very cool because a marui motor would last me forever, on the downside it unfortunately costs about the same amount as the gun lol.

Anyways, I appreciate all the help, offers and suggestions from you guys! I feel kind of retarded now that I found the problem lol.

If worst comes to worst and you can't find another motor, I'd try cleaning it's brushes/commutator (if it is possible to).

Really I would like to get another motor if it is indeed interchangeable with the marui 560 because I'll put the 560 into my incomming mp7 and put that motor into the G18c.

As for cleaning it that might be the problem because of all the time that I have spent opening and closing it up something may have gotten in there, it is a very holy Motor It also sounded like that may be the case. or it could be that my battery is not giving enough of an output for some reason, I'll find out when the mp7 comes in with all the extra batteries that I ordered.

One way or another I'll get this thing working, whether it was worth all the work that I have put into it is another thing entirely.

It could also be your battery's problem, you should take a multimeter to it and see if it's giving off the right voltage (around 7.2V) or above.

I'm too lazy to really test the battery, and if I'm not to tired I'll probably pull the motor apart and clean it after some studying.

I want to throw the stupid thing against a wall but at the same time this is good experience so I don't screw up my significantly more expensive Mp7 when it finally comes.
